Job Title: Junior Penetration Tester
Overview:
We are looking for a Junior Penetration Tester to join our cybersecurity team. This role involves conducting penetration tests and vulnerability assessments under the guidance of senior team members to ensure the security of our systems.
Responsibilities:
Assist in performing penetration tests on web applications, networks, and systems.
Learn and apply automated tools and manual techniques to identify and exploit vulnerabilities.
Document findings and contribute to detailed reports with remediation recommendations.
Support the implementation of security improvements based on test results.
Collaborate with senior testers and IT teams to enhance overall security posture.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in penetration testing methodologies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Basic understanding of networking concepts and web technologies.
Familiarity with common web application security vulnerabilities (SQLi, XSS, CSRF, etc.).
Interest in learning penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Relevant internship or coursework in cybersecurity is a plus.
Certifications like CompTIA Security+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or similar are advantageous.
Experience with scripting or programming languages (Python, Bash, etc.) is beneficial.
